A metal furring channel is a light-gauge cold-formed steel section that creates a level, ventilated fixing plane in front of a wall, ceiling or structural slab. Standard sizes are 16 mm resilient channel, 28 mm hat channel and 38 mm hat channel, plus U-shaped profiles for partition framing. Fixing plasterboard or fibre-cement board to a metal furring channel decouples the board from the substrate, which lifts the acoustic rating of the assembly, conceals services, and leaves a drainage and insulation cavity behind cladding.
The cold roll forming machine shapes strip at room temperature through a sequence of contoured roll pairs. No heat is applied, so the zinc coating stays intact and the yield strength of the steel is preserved. The line runs: hydraulic decoiler (3–5 t) → strip levelling and feeding → servo pre-punching and notching(if necessary) → 10 forming stations → straightening head → hydraulic tracking cut → run-out table with automatic stacker. Every station bends the strip a few degrees further until the hat or resilient profile is closed, then the flying shear cuts to length without stopping the line.

Profiles produced by this furring channel roll forming machine are used for drywall partition furring, suspended ceiling grids, acoustic wall systems, basement and lift-shaft wall lining, curtain-wall backing and ventilated rainscreen cavities. Because a metal furring channel is straight, light and corrosion-protected, it is written into residential, commercial and modular construction specs across North America, Australia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Each cold roll forming machine is CE marked and built under ISO 9001, with profiles verified against ASTM C645 and AS 3623. Before shipment the complete line is test-run with your own coil, and we supply roll drawings, electrical schematics and a full spare-parts list. Buyers choose this cold roll forming machine because one asset covers the whole metal furring channel range, which shortens payback to roughly 8–14 months on two-shift production.
Delivery is 45–60 days from deposit. The equipment ships in one 40 ft container together with foundation drawings and an anchor-bolt plan, so your civil work can start while the line is being built. Two technicians commission the equipment in 5–7 working days, covering mechanical levelling, encoder calibration, trial runs with your coil and operator training, then hand over a maintenance schedule with daily, weekly and monthly tasks. Remote support is available over the PLC Ethernet port, so our engineers can read alarms, review the length-batching log and push recipe updates without travelling to the plant.
It forms 0.35-0.6 mm(customized) galvanized, galvalume or cold-rolled steel with a yield strength of 235–550 MPa.
Yes. The quick-change cassette lets one machine switch between 16 mm resilient channel, 28 mm hat channel and 38 mm hat channel in under 30 minutes.
A hydraulic tracking shear cuts at full line speed with ±1 mm accuracy and a burr-free edge.
Installation supervision, operator training, 12-month warranty and lifetime technical support, with spare rolls shipped from stock.
